Dr. Veja A. Tillman Carrington earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She relocated to the Florida area and successfully completed an internship in small animal medicine, surgery and emergency care. Dr. Carrington has practiced in several high volume clinics specializing in small and exotic animal medicine throughout Florida and Georgia. Additionally, Dr. Carrington's experience includes providing quality spay and neuter surgery in several clinics throughout Florida. Currently, Dr. Carrington provides relief services for preventive care clinics and emergency facilities throughout Southwest, Central and Florida Panhandle and West Georgia areas.
Dr. Carrington places
high priority on the quality of care provided to patients, pet owners and
physicians by updating her knowledge of current medical and surgical
procedures, diagnostic techniques and pharmacology. Professionally mandated training and State licensing
and compliance training is completed on a yearly basis, in addition to continuing education on new surgical techniques, equipment, pharmacology and diagnostic procedures .
Southeastern Veterinary Services, LLC began operation in 2002 and maintains licenses and insurance in Florida and Georgia. All licenses, including DEA and USDA accreditation are maintained in “Good Standing” with all governing agencies. Dr. Carrington (Southeastern Veterinary Services, LLC) maintain membership with AVMA, FAVMS, GVMA, IVECCS, International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management and an associate member of AAHA.
The passion
to care for animals was evident from an early age when Dr. Carrington established “a
family zoo”. Her pets included a
snapping turtle, exotic fish , rabbits, hamsters and five Rottweilers, one
of which lived seventeen years. Dr. Carrington shares her passion and knowledge by teaching anatomy classes, participating in
school presentations for career day and
mentoring students interested in veterinary science.
